ROUTINE FOR

OILY SKIN

What is oily skin?

Oily skin is a type of skin characterised by excessive sebum production.

How to identify oily skin?

Oily skin has a naturally more shiny (oily) appearance on all areas of the face, and most often has enlarged pores that are easily clogged, especially on the cheeks, chin and nose. Problems with blackheads and pimples can also occur. Putting on makeup on such skin is not easy because it gives the impression that the makeup is just ''sliding off'' and does not stick as it should.

What causes oily skin?

Oily skin most often occurs during puberty, but it can also be determined by genetics, or as a result of hormonal changes or living in a very humid climate.

What are the advantages of oily skin type?

Since oily skin produces more oil, i.e. sebum than the other skin types, it is regularly protected from drying out, so people with oily skin type develop wrinkles much later. If properly maintained with suitable products, oily skin can have a beautiful natural glow, which is not easily achievable with other skin types.

How to take care of oily skin?

  • Use a gentle facial cleanser.
  • Remember to exfoliate regularly.
  • Choose products with an indication of non-comedogenicity.
  • Do not skip a light water serum.
  • Choose a lightweight moisturiser.
  • Wear less makeup and choose a water-based foundation, which does not contain oils.

IN THE MORNING

Wake up your face and skin in the morning with PURIFYING CLEANSER facial cleansing gel which will remove all excess sebum and impurities from your skin, as well as cleanse your pores.

Then drip 4-5 drops of INSTANT REVITALIZING SERUM into the palm of your hand, and massage it into the skin using your fingertips. During the massage you will feel that the skin has started to absorb the serum.

Then it is the right time for HARMONIZING CREAM. Apply the desired amount of cream with your fingertips and rub lightly onto your face while performing a gentle, relaxing massage.

When you are satisfied with the amount of hydration your skin has received, we suggest switching to the sensitive eye area care. EYE CREAM is best applied in a pea-sized amount using only ring fingers to ensure very light pressure, without tightening the skin.

IN THE EVENING

Evening routine is a perfect opportunity for more special treatments for your skin.

Cleanse your face with PURIFYING CLEANSER facial cleansing gel to remove all impurities and excess sebum, as well as to cleanse your pores.

After cleansing your face, take a closer look at your skin. If you notice any comedones, 4-5 drops of CLARIFYING SERUM will help solve this problem without further drying out the skin. Lightly dab the serum onto problematic areas. For the best serum effect, leave it on the skin up to 5 minutes before the next step of the routine.

After that, it is the right time for a rich hydration hidden in the HARMONIZING CREAM. Apply the desired amount of cream with your fingertips and rub lightly onto your face while performing a gentle, relaxing massage.

Faq

This routine combines potent active ingredients that prevent causes of acne and reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation spots. BHA, better known as salicylic acid, deeply cleanses the pores to prevent clogging and concomitant inflammation. Niacinamide has a dual effect: it helps prevent the formation of hyperpigmentation spots by preventing melanin to enter skin cells, but it is also an adored ingredient for oily skincare because it strengthens the hydrolipidic layer and reduces the sebum production. Phytoplankton has a similar effect, which in a dose of as little as 2%, according to clinically proven studies, reduces the sebum production and supports the skin structure strenghtening. Glycyrrhetinic acid virtually combines all these effects. This innovative ingredient, the most potent part of licorice root extract, provides as many as four mechanisms of action: two against hyperpigmentation spots and two for sebum control. It reduces and alleviates inflammation that precedes the development of postinflammatory hyperpigmentation, but also directly inhibits excessive melanin synthesis. Additionally, it reduces lipogenesis, i.e. the process of sebum production, and inhibits the conversion of testosterone to the active DHT form, which can also cause excessive sebum secretion.

In order to provide gentle but effective care for acne-prone skin, L'ADRIA routine is based on the prevention of inflammation and causes of acne as well as soothing of the skin in accordance with its natural processes, all without any aggressive ingredients.

Yes, you can use all the products from this routine separately if that suits you.

Depending on the season, our skin has different needs for lipids, therefore the ratio of cream and serum we need varies. L'ADRIA serums can be mixed with HARMONIZING CREAM, allowing you to create new textures that meet the specific and seasonal needs of your skin. The exact amount of product is individual - you can use a smaller amount of cream and a larger amount of serum, depending on the current skin needs and season. Numerous possibilities! The main benefit of mixing potent serums with a neutral cream is that it allows a gradual introduction and optimal dosage of potent active ingredients on sensitive skin. Only CLARIFYING SERUM should not be mixed with creams because it works best alone.

These products are suitable for sensitive skin.

Absolutely! The effect of intensive hydration and smoothing of INSTANT REVITALIZING SERUM combined with the elegant texture of HARMONIZING CREAM is an excellent makeup base.

All L'ADRIA products, except CLARIFYING SERUM, may be used during pregnancy. CLARIFYING SERUM contains salicylic acid, which is not recommended for use during pregnancy.

We recommend using SPF the whole year round. CLARIFYING SERUM contains BHA (salicylic acid), which is said to increase sensitivity of skin to the sun. However, according to recent findings (SCCS/1601/18 Final Opinion, Corrigendum of 20-21 June 2019), BHA actually does not have photo-irritant, photosensitizing nor photocarcinogenic properties. CLARIFYING SERUM is also very rich in extremolytes like ectoin with proven photoprotective properties. Combined with an SPF, which you should always use anyway, CLARIFYING SERUM is a very safe choice to use all year round.
